Main Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ cup molasses
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
Beat in the egg and molasses.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.
Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
